FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I put these water softeners on a shelf in the bathroom, or on the flat corner surface at the top of the tub?
NO, these units are designed to be placed on the shower floor. Both models weigh over 30lbs. If they ever fell off of a shelf or were knocked off of a ledge, they could easily break feet, or toes, or fatally injure you or a child.
Keep you and your family safe, by installing flat on the ground.
Q: Are these shower water softeners as easy to use as the water softener in my parents home?
A: They are not as easy to use as the whole house residential water softener you grew up with.
These MiniMax softeners run without electricity so you have to make the brine
solution and pour it into the softener manually
Q: How do I know when iot's time to refresh or regenerate the resin?
A: Your soal will stop creating suds, your skin and hair will feel dry.
Or you can test your shower water with the professional titration test kit that is included with the MiniMax softener.
Q: I love wonderful soft water on my skin and hair but my husband absolutely hates soft water
A: This is no problem. The softeners have a by-pass on the valve, allowing water to bypass the softener and go directly to the shower head, providing raw hard water.
Q: Will these water softeners reduce shower water pressure?
A: Yes, however the pressure drop is so little, you should not notice it unless you use instrumentation to measure it.
Q: Where are the water softeners manufactured?
A: Pflugerville, Texas. USA
Q: Do the MiniMax water softeners come with warranties?
A: Yes.
Q: Do they come in different colors?
A: The mineral tanks come in black, blue, and pale yellow, but color can't be guaranteed.
These small mineral tanks are heavily used in the food and beverage industry. When we order them, we have to take whatever color they send us.
Q: I'm handicapped in a wheel chair. If I can't install my unit, who can I call?
A: They are easy to install, but you have to be able to stand up and reach the shower arm coming out of the wall to thread a PVC coupling.
You might call a local handyman, plumber, building maintenance, or a family member.
Q: Will these shower water softeners stop hard water stains on my shower door?
A: Yes, however some spotting can occur from sediment that looks like hard water staining.
Sediment will wipe off easily when dry. Hardness will not.
My wife and I will squeegee our shower glass even with a softener. Our shower glass is 10 years old, and still looks new.
Q: How long does it take to receive my softener once I order it?
A: 2 weeks. MiniMax softeners are not assembled and pressure tested until they are ordered.
